Mini Projects

Where I am with my mini projects:

Winter Bleu {house} is my BIG project for 2017!

I'm working on removing the balcony.

I'm ready to move forward on the interior -- 

the rooms are just big, and I'm not sure how

to divide the spaces.

I also have these kits to complete:

Corner Store Kit -- bakery* 

{I'm waiting to see if this is published before I post photos.}

Cath Kidston store -- 

Still working out the details on this one...

Loft Kit -- 

Something beach/nautical 

Most likely fashioned after a beach house we vacationed at in 2016.

Craftsman Cabin Kit -- Creatin' Contest 2017

{Not sure how I will furnish this one...or if I will enter it into the contest.}

Glamour/Camper Kit - 

Aqua and red like our real-life glamper Magnolia.

*The corner store was so much fun [and easy] to build-- 

I'm thinking of making another one and turning it into a floral shop.

Brickwork

So much snow in our neck of the woods.

Using some indoor time to work on the corner bakery.

I looked at different brick papers, but nothing 'wowed' me.

I found a couple of ideas for making my own bricks.

This one uses sandpaper and paint -- supplies I had on hand, so I gave it a try.

I LOVE how the bricks turned out!

It took me less than 10 minutes to paint the sandpaper,

and just a couple of hours to cut and glue into place [2 exterior walls].

{I did ruin a paper cutter blade in the process -- but it was and old one that would have needed replacing soon -- so it was totally worth it.}

Part of the side wall -- for my first time trying this technique, I thought it turned out fine.

{Now that I've done it once, I'd love to try it again and perfect my bricklaying skills!}

Bakery Interior/Exterior

This week I'm working on the corner bakery.

{This is the color palette for the interior & exterior of the shoppe.}

Scrapbook papers, Drizzle Grey and Sea Foam paints.

I'll be back to show the progress over the next few days.

I'm snowed-in today.

Found a minute to work on a mini project.

A little shelf for trinkets -- from the Target 'dollar spot' (1/2017).

Filled with Cath Kidston papers --
this might find a spot in the American Girl dollhouse.

Game Night

I'm thinking about the little game/playroom on the third floor of Winter Bleu.

So I decided to make a mini game...

Focused and distracted all in the same moment.

Ornaments, Cards, and Little Boxes

Little boxes of ornaments and cards --

I know it is the NEW YEAR --

and most people are putting Christmas away --

but I've been finishing up a few little Christmas minis I thought I'd share.

Sweet little boxes for gifts and goodies.

The above items are all 1:12 scale --

Below are a few slightly larger creations -- for Blythe.

I experimented with three different kinds of beads that we had in our stash --

glass {upper left}, pearl {lower left}, 

and little beads that looked almost like painted ormanets {lower right}.

The boxes {upper right} are filled with pre-made ornaments 

from the miniatures section at Hobby Lobby. 

The ornaments are very cute and realistic. 

I styled them a little differently in their boxes --

I think the pearl red and green ones are my favorite!

I've told myself I have to finish all mini projects before I buy anything else to finish/make/build/decorate -- you get the idea.
