Mini Up-cycle Project -- Hutch Turned Dresser/Shelves

When I was making the Craft Cottage,
I decided to take apart a little brown hutch to use the bottom half.
{I was already using a white hutch, so it just made sense to not have 2 hutches in the room.}
I held on to the top part of the hutch for future use...

The hutch top is now a little shelf unit in the bakery.

I painted it white and green -- then distressed it.
I added the bar across the top shelf, added the top piece {balsa wood},
{The hutch top is actually upside down to make the shelf unit.}
Can you see it now?
I think it turned out pretty cute.

The little basket on the top is filled with recipe cards.

Beach Cottage Summer

Today is the first day of summer.

The beach cottage is open for the season --
You can find us sitting on the beach during the days,
and sipping lemonade on the porch all evening long...

Every porch should have a porch swing --
Don't you agree?

Books

A little photo from the bookend tutorial I did for Miniature Collector Magazine.
Summer for us is all about more time to read --
Pool days and free nights to enjoy a good book.

Are you reading anything fun?

Fairy Garden Number Two

Here is our second little fairy garden 2017.

We recycle from past years,
but I always love to find one or two new things to add.

This little leaf swing is a new purchase.

For some reason the deer and/or the birds love the little mushrooms.

I added a few new tiny mushrooms this year --
some of the others from past years have little bit marks in them.

{I think these mini ones are the cutest I found yet!}

Cheers to spring/summer and fairy gardens.

Taking Our Love of Minis Outside!

One of our two little fairy gardens.

The potting table is a new addition.

The little mushrooms have been 'enjoyed' by birds or the deer.
(I really must remember to put things away before it snows!)

This year the "littlest little' helped me with the gardens.
